F.A.Q.

What is Freedom Run and what is it for?
Freedom Run is a charity race supporting freedom in Ukraine. It is an attempt to cover a small piece of the humanitarian, medical and military needs arising from the war. The first event was held in July 2022 in the hope it would be the last; Freedom Run 2.0 followed in 2023 and Freedom Run 3.0 in 2025, and the organisers gathered again in 2026 for Freedom Run 4.0.
Who organises and administers the event?
The Freedom Run is organised and administered by a group of volunteers.
Where does my money go?
All registration fees are made in the form of donations directly to the specified organisations. The organisers avoid bureaucracy and fundraise for specific, defined needs of partner charities that have tangible impact.
Can I choose which cause my donation supports?
Yes. Each supporter or runner is able to select which specific cause he or she wants to donate to. Causes across editions have covered humanitarian, medical and military needs, as well as long-term youth empowerment.
Does Freedom Run fund anything that puts people at risk?
No. Freedom Run is aimed at raising funds to save lives, rather than to put any human being at risk.
How much has been raised so far, and how was it allocated?
Freedom Run has raised more than £300,000 to date and is aiming for more. Allocation reports for each of the races are published on our website.
How much does a ticket cost?
In previous editions participants chose their own ticket price, and could also choose which partner charity their support went to, so that each run carried the greatest personal and real-world impact.

Freedom Run is aimed at raising funds to save lives, rather than put any human being at risk. Each of our supporters / runners is able to select which specific cause he / she wants to donate to. Out of the provided causes, with the raised funds our partner in the military segment will use the funds for educational purposes - to fund Victory Drones (a comprehensive ecosystem dedicated to training and supporting drone operators who assist Ukrainian defenders, first responders, and medical personnel). Aside from military donations, humanitarian, medical charities are available to donate to. These charities are aimed at those affected by the Russian aggression.
Will my donations be “matched” under my corporate matching programme?
Some of the employers do have in place donations matching programmes which enable, for instance, doubling of the donation made by your employer. To amplify the effect of your donation please check with your employer whether the organizations Freedom Run is raising for are in the list of eligible charities.
What if I (as an individual fundraise) or my team does not raise the target amount?
It could be the case that for a variety of reasons you are not able to meet the target financial goal that you set during the registration. Don't worry, we will not limit your participation in the race anyhow. The last thing we want to do is be restrictive or exclusionary. Just do your best and if you do not manage to achieve the financial goal, you shall still achieve your pace / distance / time goal on the day of the run.
