Participants accept that 5k, 10k or half-marathon running is only for persons with a high degree of physical fitness and who have undertaken a lengthy and appropriate training regime. It is your responsibility to seek appropriate medical advice prior to participation. Participation in the event is entirely at your own risk and, by entering the event, participants acknowledge that we shall not be liable for death, injury, loss or damage arising from participation in the event save to the extent that it is caused by our negligence.

You confirm that all details provided by you in the registration form are true, and that you understand and agree with these Terms & Conditions, and Rules of the Freedom Run cited below.

1) You are responsible for ensuring that you have taken your own medical advice, and that you are medically fit and healthy and have undertaken appropriate training and preparation to participate in Freedom Run ("the Event"). You understand that participating in this Event is potentially hazardous, and you should not enter and participate unless you are medically able and properly trained. We recommend that you consult your doctor prior to undertaking training for the Event. We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to stop any runner from taking part if we deem him or her unfit to run, including mid-race removal from the course where necessary.

2) You agree that you participate in the Event at your own risk, and accept that the organizer of the Event cannot be liable to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any personal injury and / or illness sustained by you in any way or loss or damage to any personal property as a result of your participation in the Event.

3) By entering this event, you are confirming that should you require any medical treatments during your attendance at the Event, whether before, during or after the actual run, they may be administered by the Events’ official medically qualified personnel.

4) You must abide by any rules or regulations of the Event that may be notified to you by the organiser of the Event or the venue owners at any point leading up to or at the Event.

5) You must show respect and courtesy towards other participants, spectators and organisers of the Event. We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to refuse to allow you to participate in the Event either at the start or to continue participation at any point along the route of the Event, should you be deemed to behave inappropriately or give cause for concern that your continued participation may cause offence or injury to yourself, any spectators or other competitors. This includes the wearing of any clothing or visual messages that may cause offence to any of those participating or to the causes for which we fundraise. Failure to comply with any instruction from race officials and marshals will result in ejection from the race and may also result in you being reported to the police.

6) You must not under any circumstances give your race number to anyone else. Amongst other potential problems, doing so may cause problems of identification for the Event medical services in the case of any accident or injury. Any attempt to do so will result in immediate disqualification of the individual(s) concerned and ejection from the Event.

7) You are responsible for the safe keeping of your own personal possessions and those of any spectators you may bring to the Event. You agree and accept that the Event organiser has no liability for any theft, loss or damage to any personal property sustained as a result of your participation in the event. At the same time, the Event organiser intends to provide a storage box for participants' belongings of small size that can be used during the Event solely.

8) The Event organisers are not responsible for any third party organisations that may provide other services at the Event or in close proximity to the designated route. You use any such services at your own risk.

9) If access to a published course is restricted for any reason an alternative course will be used, all participants will be notified about such change in advance but not later than the start of the race. Entry fees will not be refunded for anyone choosing not to participate in the adapted event.

10) We reserve the right, in our absolute discretion, to cancel, delay, alter or shorten the course, or postpone the Event due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances outside of our reasonable control. In such cases, we will endeavour to inform participants as quickly as is possible. Where the Event has to be cancelled, delayed, altered or postponed due to circumstances outside of our reasonable control (including for the avoidance of doubt due to adverse weather conditions or as a result of instructions from the emergency services or local authority) we shall not be liable for any inconvenience, expenses, costs, losses or damages suffered by participants. Where the Event has to be cancelled, delayed, altered or postponed due to circumstances that were within our reasonable control, our entire liability in respect of any inconvenience, expenses, costs, losses or damages suffered by you as a result will be limited to the entry price you have paid to take part in the Event.

11) Children must be accompanied by adults for the Event. In case children accompany an adult to the Event, an adult agrees that at all times, including during the time when either an adult or a child participate(s) in the race, child (children) is (are) responsibility of an accompanying adult.

12) Non-racing wheelchair users are welcome to take part in the Freedom Run, however we currently do not offer elite wheelchair races or allow racing wheelchairs. If you wish to enter in a non-racing wheelchair, you will start at the rear of the race for carefully considered health & safety reasons associated with the course terrain and density of runners in sections of the race. Please kindly inform us directly at [email protected] in case you intend to participate in the Event in a non-racing wheelchair.

13) Animals will not be permitted on the Freedom Run course. We are unable to allow guide dogs on the course but they are allowed to stay at the start / finish of the course. Animals

14) You agree to photographs and video being taken at the event and that any images of you may be used by the Event organiser in any media regarding the event and to market and advertise the event, any other similar events or fundraising for the purposes and / or charities of the Event.

15) If you wish for any photographs taken of yourself from our event photographer to be removed please contact us directly at [email protected]

16) By registering you are agreeing to any data provided being used by the Event organiser to contact you regarding race results, event photos and / or other matters related to the Event.

17) Given that all of the registration fees are done in the form of donations directly to specific charities, with targeted assistance to Ukraine, there will be no possibility for a refund after the registration has been completed / donations have been transferred. Alternatively, up to 6th August 2023, you may by contacting us in writing on [email protected] to transfer your entry to another runner. Any such transfer will be made by us re-registering the entry in the name of the alternative runner who will be required to accept the terms and conditions of entry prior to the transfer being completed. A transfer from a selected distance to another distance is also possible by reaching out on the abovementioned email by 30th July 2022.

18) Given that the Event is a one-off fundraising event, no deferrals will be possible.
